Hydro jetting is a process of using pressurized water to clear pipes. The high-pressure water is released into the pipes breaking up the tough clogs and removes materials from the interior of the walls.
Hydro jetting is required when the water system is impaired with severe clogs that keep recurring. The inside of pipes frequently scales up with debris, grease, and mineral buildup, which causes clogging and slow draining.
• Hair
• Mineral deposits
• Grease and fats
• Food deposits
• Soap scum
• Tree roots (in some cases)
Before we do that, a licensed plumber will perform a camera inspection to locate any blockages or areas of heavy buildup and if your pipes can withstand hydro jetting. Sometimes pipes are very old or too weak to endure hydro jetting, in these cases a plumber will provide other alternatives such as to have the pipes augered to breakup any debris.
Well hydro jetting cleans pipes and removes clogs more aggressively using the high pressurized water. Augering penetrates clogs and breaks them apart, however it doesn’t reach the pipe walls to grab stubborn debris. Which is why snaking is often recommended for older homes or homes with weakened pipes because it isn’t as invasive and doesn’t apply pressure to the pipes as hydro jetting does.
When you hydro jet your pipes there is zero chemicals being used and is a quick process. Since jetting cleans the pipes all the way around, it takes waste build up much long to accumulate. So, you won’t need to worry about clogs anytime soon.
Not sure if you need a hydro jetting service, call a local plumber like Duncan Plumbing Solutions at 972-937-0040 and ask for a camera inspection. The cost of a sewer line camera inspection is minor compared with the cost of replacing your sewer line.
