Signs you might have a leak

Do you think you have a plumbing leak? You may have an idea you have a leak because your bill may have gone up without explanation or you may actually see water in the yard. Other factors like a drop in water pressure might all be symptoms of a water leak.  If you have a higher than normal water bill or if you have seen puddles of water in the yard or grassy areas that seem ‘greener’ than the rest of the yard or if you have moist, wet water standing or running in the yard, you probably have a leak.

Low spots, sinking areas in your yard and flooded spots are all good signs you have a leaky water line in your yard. Don’t start digging where the water is because generally leaks in the yard lines or pipes are most often found in another area of the yard. Water has a way of meandering and can surface many feet away from the actual leak. Duncan Plumbing Solutions has the experience, tools and equipment to diagnose and solve your leaky issues.

Not so obvious signs you might have a leak

If it’s not so obvious and you want to make sure you have a leak, turn off the water to your house. This is the valve were the water goes into the house. Turning off the water to the house will ensure that there isn’t a leak inside your house…things like a running toilet, a leaking or drippy faucet.

If the meter is still moving, then you know the leak is on the line from the house to the meter. You’ll want to ensure that the culprit isn’t your sprinkler system. Make sure that you turn off the sprinklers at the valve. This will eliminate that the sprinklers.
