How do you know if you hired the best Plumber in Waxahachie?

Finding a qualified Waxahachie plumbing company can be a daunting task especially if it is an urgent job. No one wants to hire an inexperienced and unlicensed plumber to do repairs for them. Eventually you are bound to regret in a few days if not hours of hiring their services. I’ve heard this is a problem and have experienced this personally on more than one occasion when it comes to services through home warranty. The ‘good’ guys are busy on their own jobs and don’t want the hassle of calling multiple times to a 3rd party to get approval on work or the additional work when a homeowner calls in a home warranty claim. This is especially an issue for plumbing because the home warranty company has a certain ‘approval’ amount for something like “leak” but the “leak” that has a $125 approval can be a slab leak that requires re-routing plumbing lines and perhaps more that can run into the thousands. Getting the approval for a home warranty to pay can mean up to 8 hours JUST for approval on the phone. Most pay net 45, which means on top of that, you don’t get paid. What that means for the homeowner is you get a shotty plumber who has the time to sit on the phone for hours, etc. Most experienced plumbers have full schedules. They are busy and don’t have time to call in for an approval on adding a wax ring or supply lines for a job (for example).

You can rest assured that you are in good hands with Duncan Plumbing Solutions. However, you may wish to ‘do your homework’. We suggest the following when contracting a plumber or any tradesman.

Research on the firms found in your locality is an important place to start one the best sources of information is former clients. They can give important insights on the reputation of company and their professionalism. Does the company have a website? Check Google & Yahoo reviews. This is a quick and easy way to see what real customers are saying.

Ask for references of past clients. Ask them point blank if they would hire the plumber again. That will let you know if the plumber’s work merits loyal customers.

Create a shortlist of viable firms and run them against a list provided by the city authorities in your area. It will help find those contractors who are properly registered and fulfill the city by-laws. Get in touch with all contractors who have passed the test and ask for a quote on the job you need done. Get references and call their past customers.

With regards to plumbing, the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners outlines licensed and certified master plumbers and journeymen. Proof of insurance should also be provided to ensure that any damage to your house hold appliances during work is covered and compensated. Insurance is required to perform plumbing in the State of Texas. A quick search on TSBPE will show you if they have kept up with licensure and all requirements. If they haven’t, this is a red flag.
